Something’s Odd About This Blog – What happens when we hand our copywriting over to AI

AI is quickly becoming more prevalent (and more scary) as we appear to be living in our very own sci-fi future, and one of the tasks its being commonly used for is copywriting. But is it actually any good?

So, I figured I’d better hop on the trend and test it out. I asked our good pal, Chat GPT, to create a little blog post to tell you all why Digital Marketing is important…

In conclusion, digital marketing has become an essential part of modern businesses. I mean, not bad for a short prompt and less than a minute turnaround. I think if I’d given the bot some feedback and tone-pointers this would develop into a great blog post.

But do you know what? Even if I didn’t use all the words the bot generated, it’s given me something useful: A starting point, inspiration, even done my research for me!

Is the first pass a bit bland? Yes. But has it potentially broke the back of the work involved in getting (me, at least) motivated to write? Absolutely.

At the end of the day, if it’s personality and opinions that you want to convey – AI isn’t there yet. I guess, unless you have a backlog of writing you can use to train it on.

But even then I reckon our jobs are safe for the time being…
