Derbyshire-based David Hill & Son Ltd. is a family-run business specialising in stone masonry and building services. The company has established itself in the local market by leveraging its reputation for excellent craftsmanship and customer service.

The Challenge

Despite David Hill & Son’s strong reputation, they were experiencing a decline in leads and recognised the need to establish a stronger digital presence.

However, like many independent family businesses, they lacked the resources to do so effectively. Their outdated brand, website, and minimal social media presence hindered their ability to compete in the digital landscape.

They approached us in September 2024 to help modernise their brand and create a new digital strategy to help develop a consistent lead flow.

The Solution

We needed to overhaul and elevate the client’s existing brand to reflect the reputation, craftsmanship and passion that goes into their projects. This meant a full redesign of their brand identity and website.

The primary goal of the redesign was to modernise the existing brand identity and enhance approachability

The logo icon we created symbolised the core function of the business – renovations and construction –  in a stylised way. Showing the merging of existing structures with new additions. We kept the design simple, recognisable and effective while maintaining the value of the brand.

We ensured that we selected a very clear and simple font, given the importance of clarity across the website and social portfolio.

The colour green was selected as the primary brand colour as it symbolises maturity and neutrality, while also aligning with a theme of nature which pairs nicely with the brand given that a lot of projects stand amongst rural landscapes.

The overarching vision was to create a clean, efficient and sophisticated brand identity which would be instantly recognisable and memorable to visitors of the brand’s digital portfolio. We combined a modern aesthetic with a clear and concise message which communicated the company’s commitment to quality, innovation and tradition.

The client’s website was transformed with a focus on user experience and engagement, creating a seamless and persuasive journey. To elevate the overall aesthetic, we incorporated their new brand identity for a sleek, modern look. We prioritised streamlined navigation with clear calls to action across key pages to increase conversion rates. Customer testimonials, impactful imagery and videography were also integrated to build brand credibility and trust, while increasing user engagement.
